PAST PERFORMANCES SINCE THE REACTIVATION OF THE BAND IN 2003
Our third annual return engagement at Greenspring
Village Reitrement Community near Springfield, VA, was on February 22, 2009. The Kaleidoscope Orchestra full big
band plus vocalist, Jeanette DuBois performed the one-hour show, "Basie and Sinatra: the 1950's,"
in Greenspring Village's concert
series. Ticketed admission. The audience there was amazingly warm and enthusiastic.
"Basie
and Sinatra: the 1950's" was the theme of our concert at Millian United Methodist Church
in Rockville on February 8, 2009. With us was a special appearance by vocalist, John Lewis, who sang familiar Frank
Sinatra big band charts in the most relaxed, wonderful style. Admission, as always at Millian, was free!
The Kaleidoscope Orchestra full big band plus our singer, Jeanette Dubois, played a special
request return engagement program of theme songs of big bands and big band singers from the '30's and
'40's, on February 10, 2008, at Greenspring Village Retirement Community near Springfield,
VA. This was a ticketed event.

was free!
The Kaleidoscope Orchestra was asked again to open the City of Alexandria's Memorial
Day Jazz Festival, May 28th, 2007, in the Amphitheater at Fort Ward Park, VA. We had a full band plus a
special appearance by our vocalist, Jeanette duBois. This was a great honor and always a wonderful event, suitable for
the entire family. The festival ran 1:00-6:00 with a different band every hour.

4th, 2007, at Greenspring Village Retirement Community near Springfield, VA. The Kaleidoscope Orchestra full big band
plus our singer, Jeanette Dubois, gave a one-hour show of music from the '30's and '40's. The residents loved it!

afternoon concert, open to the public on January 21st, 2007, at Millian United
Methodist Church in Rockville, MD.
Private event: 13-piece Kaleidoscope Orchestra, 50th wedding anniversary, Fredericksburg,
VA, July 16, 2006. The male celebrant sang "My Way" with the band.
A 10-piece Kaleidoscope Orchestra played for the official 50th anniversary of President Eisenhower's
interstate highway system in the Amphitheater of the Ronald Reagan Building & International
Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC, on June 29, 2006. Mary Eisenhower, Ike's grand-daughter,
was one of the speakers!
The Kaleidoscope Orchestra big band led by Ann Marlowe played a concert of familiar
jazz standards from the American songbook repertoire--Gershwin, Porter, Kern, Ellington and other all time great tunes--at
Millian United Methodist Church in Aspen Hill, Maryland, on September 3rd, 2005.
The Kaleidoscope Orchestra opened the Memorial Day Jazz Festival with a 50-minute concert
set on May 30, 2005, at Fort Ward Park in Alexandria, VA. Led by Darryl Brenzel of the U. S. Army's Jazz Ambassadors,
Kaleidoscope played selections by Thad Jones, Sammy Nestico, Bob Florence, John Coltrane, and a composition by Darryl
Brenzel, himself, as well as others.
The Kaleidoscope Orchestra played for dancing and listening on New Year's Eve 2004
at the Potowmack Landing Restaurant in Alexandria by the Washington Sailing Marina in Virginia, accompanied by a shower
of balloons at midnight.
The Kaleidoscope Orchestra's new Dance and Concert Demo CD was released in May, 2005.
